About the Author

George Stroubakis

Born and raised in Montreal, of Greek ancestry. I remember a conversation I had with Fred Reed (d. 2024), talking about translation, telling him about the restlessness of wanting to write my own words, rather than only translating those written by other pens. He gave me a simple piece of advice: if you have something to say to the world, you need to say it. The trouble was that I didn’t know what exactly I need to say. But when I look back in my life, one way notice themes. I earned a BA in Translation from Concordia University and started freelancing back in 2004. Having worked in the telecom and tech industries working with business systems. In 2018, I was on a train crossing Herculaneum, reading Neil Turok’s [book]. I had now wanted I returned to Univerity to finish graduate studies. This move, while a difficult adaptation, allowed me to sharpen my writing and editing skills.
